随着城市化的高速发展，导致土壤成为了日益增多的城市废物的填埋场；工矿企业生产经营活动中排放的废气、废水、废渣造成其周边土壤污染；汽车尾气排放导致交通干线两侧土壤铅、锌等重金属和多环芳烃污染；农业生产活动中污水灌溉，化肥、农药、农膜等农业投入品的不合理使用和畜禽养殖等，导致耕地土壤污染；生活垃圾、废旧家用电器、废旧电池、废旧灯管等随意丢弃，以及日常生活污水排放，造成的土壤污染，在经济社会发展过程中长期累积而触目惊心。
With the rapid urbanization, the soil becomes a landfill for an increasing amount of municipal waste. The soil has been polluted by the waste water and residue emissions by the industrial and mining enterprises production. Vehicle emission is poisoning the soils on both sides of the traffic arteries, with the heavy metals such as lead, zinc and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Agricultural activities such as irrigation by sewage water, irrational use of agricultural inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides and agricultural films and livestock farming lead to soil contamination of arable land. The alarming soil pollution caused by the indiscriminate disposal of domestic waste, used household appliances, used batteries and used lamps, as well as the discharge of sewage from daily life, has accumulated over a long period of time in the course of economic and social development.

It is a rethinking of the post-agricultural civilization under the impact of modernization and an attempt to find a way of life that breaks through the artificial environment, directly leadding to nature.
审视“土”这种最古老的和可持续的材料关系，收集人类废弃的土料，充分利用“土”本身的粘性，加入可自然降解的植物纤维增加韧性，通过现代技术工艺进行高强度模压，在保证强度的同时又能简单降解，用完可以回到土的形态，并无一点对自然的伤害。使用生土工艺，无烧制的生产过程减少能源排放，避免对自然的二次伤害，并让材质真实自然，在肌理上保留土壤的天然粗粝，将“土”独特的力量带入我们的日常生活里。把设计交给材料本身，自由生长，构建物质世界差异的每一个个体。
The material is collected from human waste, making full use of the earth's inherent cohesiveness, adding naturally biodegradable plant fibres to increase its toughness, and moulding it with modern technology to ensure its strength and simple degradation, returning it to its earthy form without any harm to nature. The raw earth technique, with its the non-fired production process, reduces energy emissions, avoids secondary damage to nature and allows the material to be authentic and natural, retaining the natural coarseness of the soil in its texture, bringing the unique power of 'earth' into our daily lives. The raw earth forming technique brings design back to the material itself, then let it be organically growing, building each individual with material world's differences.
通过“土”这种材质，带有责任与义务去探索一种新设计哲学，而不是一味去摹仿那种朝生暮死的风格。在面向未来中找寻自我存在的价值，通过流动的线条，贴心的功能、温暖的触感、隐含的文化，走向一种纯净、自由的生活。
By examining the earth as material, it is believed that there’s a responsibility and an obligation to explore a new design philosophy, rather than to copy a so-called style that is ephemeral. We would keep finding the value of our own existence in the future, through flowing lines, thoughtful functionality, warmth of tactility and implied culture, towards a life of purity and freedom.
“土”不需要高高在上，最普通、最大众的手法往往能在这个纯真绝迹的年代找到内心的需求。这是一种对平凡事物自我陶醉的诗化能力，一种生活中日积月累的记忆和品味。
Such material of simplicity as earth does not need to be exalted, the most common and democratic approach often finds its way to the heart in an age where innocence is extinct. It is a poetic capacity for self-indulgence in the mundane, a memory and appreciation that accumulates over time in life.
设计的本质是连接各种事物的活动，如何从复杂的社会文化走向简单的人类天性，往往需要的是深度的反省、删减、回归。反省设计自身的角色与价值以及存在环境中所扮演的意义和可能性；删减设计上过多的历史风格以及个人化的过多表述；回归形态直觉的感知和基本的排列架构，才能带来本能情感的延伸与贴近本质生活的惊喜。
The essence of design is the activity of bridging things, how to bring the complexity of social culture back to the simplicity of human nature, what is often needed is a deep introspection, culling and return. In order to have the extension of instinctive emotions and the surprise of being close to the essence of life, it needs a reflection on the role and value of design itself and the meaning and possibilities it plays in the environment and a return to the intuitive perception of form and the basic structure of arrangement.
